Models are a simplification to real world process in the same way a regular map is a simplification of a 1:1 scale map. By making mathematical assumptions (or lack thereof) and choosing a model structure, we work towards emulating this real world process until we have something that could be called “useful”.

Datasets are great to build models on, or even apply the data directly, and more is always better. Using data generative techniques, we can expand data sets to include plausible data points.
